Shelby Wastewater Treatment Plant
This project included several additions to an existing plant, as well as construction of new buildings.
The scope of the work included:
- New aeration basin
- Two new final clarifiers
- 700,000 square foot compost building
- Processing facility
- Operations building
- Blower building
- Maintenance facility
- Trickling filter, 140-ft. in diameter
- New chlorine contact chamber
A substantial amount of the work was self-performed, including new mechanical piping and equipment, and all concrete work.
The concrete work included walls from 12 inches to 2 feet thick, a half-acre slab storage area, and slabs with metal hardener.
