McKay's Mill Animal Hospital
McKay’s Mill Animal Hospital, which shares space in a larger shopping center, is only 3,000 square feet but includes a wide variety of usable spaces. The clinic includes three exam rooms, two offices for the office manager and the veterinarian, a large two-table treatment room with attached single-table surgery room, digital x-ray room, canine-run ward, feline ward, full grooming area, and isolation room.
Other spaces include lab areas tied into the main hallway, a dental cleaning area, additional storage, as well as a break room and two restrooms. The interior finishes are split between porcelain tile in the front area and epoxy flooring in the back treatment areas. A medical gas and scavenger evacuation system runs above the ceiling to the treatment, surgery and isolation rooms. The facility also ties the canine running area to an external area for the exercising benefits of animals under observation. We built the exhaust system in zones to help maintain the proper negative air requirements for the canine runs, feline ward and the isolation rooms.
