The renovation of this 100 year old historical building in downtown Nashville encompassed five floors, basement and mezzanine. The building was to be a mixed-use facility with restaurant and retail businesses on the lower floor, offices on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and residential and office space on the upper two floors.
After interior demolition was complete, the first floor was occupied by Morton’s of Chicago Steak House. The tenant experienced minimal disruption during the remainder of construction which consisted of:
- Modernization of three existing elevators
- Construction of one egress stair from the basement to the fifth floor
- Shell space renovation of each floor
- Finishing out of main lobby areas with various millwork materials
- Men’s and Ladies’ restrooms on each of the five floors
- Refurbishment of exterior of building
- Installation of exterior decorative copper cornice
- Replacement of roof & renovation of windows
- Installed steel structure on roof to support pent house mechanical equipment
“Powell managed the budget and the project schedule very well on this major historical renovation. They proved to be a dedicated partner on the entire project and did an excellent job of representing the interests of the Owner.”
